Where did Summer go? Part 3

The last of my summer school projects from The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design was by far my favorite!

Intricate Chaos!

Stylesight/WGSN trend agency provided the trend reports that we used as inspiration for our designs.

I did a lot of drawings for this one. I wanted to do a henna-inspired type of pattern. I love henna style designs, check out my Pinterest board with lots of great inspiration.

© Mary Tanana 2014-sketchesI ended up sketching in pencil, scanning, and “inking” in Corel Painter. Painter has a ton of different brushes, so I used a “mechanical pencil” in black. It was just like drawing on paper with a Sharpie.

These were not my fave colors (we were working off of a trend report and had suggested colors to use).

So…I recolored it to be a bit more “me”!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.
