I grew up in a small town. North Andover, Massachusetts. I loved it there, so many great memories! Some of the traditions in the Autumn season were apple picking and hay rides at the local farms, and going to the Topsfield Fair. The Topsfield Fair has been around since 1818! There are contests for so many things ranging from pumpkin growing, chickens, rabbits, flowers, jam, quilts, you name it! I think the last time I had attended it was almost 20 years ago! Yikes. Know what? It hasn’t changed. It really hasn’t change since I was a tiny kid! (except for all of the mega rides they now have).
For my international followers, this is where Topsfield is located. In the north east corner of Massachusetts.
It is about 25 miles N/NE of Boston, Massachusetts (my fave big city!).
Take a look at my time at the Fair…
This was the winner at 1900 pounds! (and me with my eyes closed!) haha!
The pumpkins were all sorts of different colors. This one was a wonderful orange. The one behind me was grayish-green! They had a fork lift that carefully lifted the pumpkins from trucks onto pallets.
The winner (left), Hiram Watson also won at two other fairs in Maine and New Hamphire with two other pumpkins that he had grown. Wonder what he was feeding them? Crazy.
Okay. NONE of the food vendor stands have changed. One bit! It was kind of nostalgic and cool.
I went into the Home/Arts building. Such lovely quilts! This one was the Best in Show. It was huge and so, so gorgeous. My fave.
I loved, loved, loved these roosters! Check out their feathers and coloring. Pretty amazing!
Hey Tina Turner, What’s Love Got to do with it? hahaha
LOTS of weirdo rasta bananas at the arcades. ?
A stuffed Fisher Cat. They are really bad a$$! Run if you see them.
Not sure what I’m touching here. Some kind of stuffed cat. Nice pelt!
Yay! Rides! I went on a few. Tilt-the-Whirl was circa 1970 yet pretty awesome!
Blurry. Because iPhones take iffy pics at night.
I also saw a sheep obstacle course contest, and pig races. I really wanted to see the Budweiser Clydesdales, but they hadn’t arrived yet. I had such a fun time at the fair!
Thanks for stopping by!
