I’ve had an (empty) Etsy store for over a year, and I’ve been working really hard to come up with some ideas to stock it. Lots of my friends sell digital scrapbooking papers, but I didn’t want to go that route. So instead, I’m starting out by selling some prints. I’ve been making these Polish folk flowers, also called wycinanki, for quite a while. I’ve built up a large image library of them. Of course, I started with an “M”. I used the flowers within the body of a letter and drew in the vines and leaves.
One of my friends mentioned how it would look nice to have it just in one color, so I did this one all in black. Thanks Nicole Ketcham!I kind of like it!
Here is a “K” that I finished last night. This time it’s bright colors on a black distressed background.
I just couldn’t help myself and rendered the full alphabet. It was a lot of fun. Now I have to scan these into my computer and do the vector work in Adobe Illustrator. So far I’ve got four letters finished. Yeehaw!I’m planning on selling these in an 8 x 10 inch size.I typically will do a portion of my work on the computer. Then I’ll print it out and sketch around some of the motifs. (I can’t think directly on the computer). Then I’ll scan that back in and continue to do the vector work in Illustrator.
I’ll let you know when they are ready and for sale!
