Oh dear, I am supposed to be doing this series every week, and I’ve been so bad about posting consistently! But…it IS summer, and you’re supposed to spend more time outdoors, right? 😀
So…My Visual Nirvana post of the week…TIE DYE! I’ve always been fascinated with tie dye art. But I’ve never actually wanted to do it. Kinda messy, hehe! Plus, I think you have to make a lot of mistakes in order to learn how the heck to do it. But I do own quite a lot of tie dye clothing….and as I post these pics, I’m cringing because I really do need to purchase an iron. Those wrinkles! OUCH! LOL!
I bought most of these designs (below) on Ebay, from a seller “Roo’s Originals”. I HIGHLY recommend them. For the link to their Ebay store, click HERE. They use really nice, heavier cotton t-shirts and fabric. The colors don’t run in the wash, and they hold up really well.
The bold and bright colors draw me in. And the randomness of the patterns, the bleeding colors, the natural “mistakes” that come from the process are so very cool! I’m still trying to duplicate this look digitally to no avail.
