I’m finally getting around to posting some neato pictures that I took in a few stores on my recent trip to New York City. The trip started off a bit rough, I was supposed to take the Acela train into the city, but there was a massive derailment the night before, so driving to southern Connecticut was the way to go via a local train.
This is me in the hotel lobby bathroom looking a bit rough. I don’t do 5 am wake ups that well. The bathroom had a giant mirror in it, so I took a pic. Lovely bright orange tile as well! Wow, that overhead lighting is horrid 😉
We made our way to the Flatiron district first. There was a very cool art installation in Madison Park. It was brightly colored fisherman’s net, all piled up! It wrapped around trees, and made a sort of fence. Very cool.
The there was a crazy parade that had floats of all kinds of people dancing. I had so much fun watching them, I wiped out on the sidewalk as I walked, my new wedge sandal got caught in a crack. *dork moment*
Next was Wolf Home. Gorgeous fabrics!! Lots of burn-out velvets, embroidered silks.
Next was ABC Carpet and Home. I got all giddy-like there!!!! Fabulous stuff.
This was insanely beautiful pottery, with pressed lace designs. *want!*
A crystal embellished decorative tree.
The interior of the store has all of these old columns, distressed walls, chipped paint. LOVE!!!
Fun!
Ah…the Modern Floor. Pretty cool stuff! Great lighting!
Speaking of jewelry, I absolutely adored the way they displayed theirs.
If you like these pictures, I post lots of them on Instagram. If you would like to follow me, click HERE.
Part 2 tomorrow!
