Yesterday I went to the first Sunday of Providence Flea. I had not been there since last year, and it’s grown a lot! I had a blast walking around, chatting with people, petting dogs, and seeing some wicked cool stuff! First stop. Vintage kitchen! Pyrex! Love the color and the little floral design. I’m currently working on kitcheny-themed designs with Modern Yardage for my next fabric collection. Stay tuned for that! How cool is this? I really loved these badge […]
Mary, Mary, quite contrary, How Does Your Garden Grow? That’s the title for my newest fabric collection for Modern Yardage. And I am so excited by this one! This is how the idea for this collection came about. I LOVE Pinterest. Do you? I used to rip up magazine and catalogs for inspiration, but I hated to create folders and files for all of the clippings and organize them…only to have my kitties knock them on the floor. One day […]

Believe… That’s the name of one of my colorways for my Folky-Dokey fabric collection at Modern Yardage. Every time that I create a color group for one of my designs, I do a “dot test” to see how the colors play on one another. It helps me figure out what colors to put next to each other, and I feel it saves me some time in coloring my designs. Every one of these patterns comes in 3 sizes. How cool […]

So excited to let you know that my long awaited fabric collection, Folky-Dokey, is now available at Modern Yardage! YAY! It’s been a long time in development, and I think it’s worth the wait. I created this collection last year as part of a final project for a class that I took at The Rhode Island School of Design. The class was fabulous, it was advanced techniques for Surface Design in Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. I learned so much in […]

First of all..HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I, for one, am excited for what 2014 holds… 2013 was chock full of new and exciting opportunities, I can’t wait to see what happens in the next 12 months! I haven’t entered a contest in months. To be honest, I was “contested” out. They can be fun, but also time-consuming and sometimes frustrating depending on how the voting is set up. So…I’ve entered Spoonflower’s “Spring Floral Cheater Quilt Block” Contest. They have one each week […]

The color for 2014? The captivating, magical and enchanting Radiant Orchid. An invitation to innovation, modern and versatile Radiant Orchid encourages creativity and originality. Imbued with a harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and its rosy undertones emanate great joy, love and health. “While the 2013 color of the year, PANTONE 17-5641 Emerald, served as a symbol of growth, renewal and prosperity, Radiant Orchid reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark […]
