As some of you know, I live in Providence, Rhode Island, right in the heart of the city. I live in an awesome loft in an old foundry, and one of the great perks about living here is having a garden plot on top of the parking garage roof. I absolutely love taking a break and going up there to get some sun, sketch, and chat with others who might be hanging out.
Here is the view from my window! The garden plots are located at the end of the “L” shaped area, by that white car.
These are my two little plots! One is mainly herbs and tomatoes, the other has peppers and some more herbs, both have tons of flowers too!
These next two are my neighbor Barbara’s plots. She complained to me that she used a really expensive fertilizer, but LOOK AT ALL OF THAT GROWTH! I’m a tad jealous!
Next is Bobby C’s plot. The head blew away in a recent storm, but he retrieved it. It’s wig went missing.
I am absolutely obsessed with drawing these gazanias based on photos that I take. Stunning color and texture, right?
Yay, zinnias finally bloomed. We’ve had a weirdo summer, everything is very late.
This is the second year for this clematis, jackmanii.
More!I’ve gardened for years! Maybe I’ll dig up some photos to post of when I lived in Florida!! Tropical and exotic!
What is really nutz is that all of these photos were taken using my iPhone5. My phone-cam has out-paced my digital SLR Canon camera!!
