My initial/monogram prints are at the printer right now. I am SO excited to see what they look like! I’m getting them printed at a local shop that works exclusively with The Rhode Island School of Design, also known as RISD. They are going to be giclee prints, and I’ll be listing them on Etsy this weekend (hopefully!).
Here is a little sample of the black and white ones.
This is one color palettes that I’ve chosen. Not sure what to call it? It reminds me of Spring.
I am “old school”, I LOVE to draw with pencil/ink on paper. So…this is my process.
I have a huge library of these papercut style flowers, wycinanki. Wycinanki are traditional Polish folk style papercut flowers. I’ve drawn them in Adobe Illustrator as vector images. I’ve arranged them within the body of a letter.
Then I’ll print them out, and draw the rest with pencil to fill it in. I can’t think of how to do this straight on the computer, so this works for me.
After I’m done drawing, I’ll scan it back into the computer, and redraw it in Illustrator using my tablet.
These are all going to be 8×10 sized prints. There will also be a set with a black background, and of course I am working to complete the rest of the initials!
Stay tuned!
