I’ve been busy. REALLY busy. Did I miss Summer? It’s gone! Yikers.
I’ve been working really hard on so many design projects. And having a blast! I took a free summer school last month. And I want to show you what I created.
I took a course with the wonderful people from The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design. They provided us with three great briefs to follow, and we were given a few weeks to complete each one. I highly recommend their courses! I took all three modules almost three years ago, and they’ve really helped me to pinpoint my true design style and where I fit into the industry.
The first project was for Spring/Summer 2015, and the theme was water rays, ripples, sea imagery, beach. I had so much fun with it! I did a kaleidoscope design that reminded me of a sea urchin. This is my version of water rays. I used a few filters on one of my patterns to create this.
I originally started out drawing these fun amoeba shaped things. But then halfway through I change my mind about whether to use them, haha! I’ll end up using them for something else later on.
Here is the whole collection. I thought “High Tide” was such an appropriate name.
More tomorrow about my summer school adventures….
Thank you for stopping by!
